Tattoos in the workplace have often been as controversial as pineapple on pizza.  Some corporate leaders just can't handle it. You’d think having a cool dragon tattoo would boost your Excel skills, but some bosses still treat visible tattoos like it's a sign of the end times. Covering your tattoos can really start to feel like you are not being allowed to be yourself, and that your employer only takes notice of how you dress and what hairstyle you have instead of looking at the work you do and the results you bring in.

However, in the past decade, businesses have been loosening their requirements! Suits are becoming less of a popular attire, bright hair colors are more acceptable and tattoos are becoming less of a problem. Even Disney, the home of Mickey Mouse and wholesome dreams, now lets employees show off their tattoos. Suddenly, you can have a full sleeve and still make it to your Zoom meeting without scrambling for a long-sleeve button-up.

The bottom line is that the way someone expresses themself does not define them as a person, nor does it define their work ethic. What tattoos do demonstrate is a person’s personality, creativity, and non-judgmental thinking. Covid has brought on a new realism coming from working from zoom in our pajamas is that appearance does not affect performance, and we suspect that having visible tattoos does not affect your capability to perform your roles! If you're nailing your deadlines and charming clients, does it really matter if you've got a tattoo of a phoenix on your forearm?

There are so many other amazing jobs out there!  If there is a tattoo that you are looking for in your profession just email a photo of what you are interested in and we'll see if we can add your design to the event tickets, or we will help you book a private session for you on the event day with one of our great artists.  

Tattoos are no bigger than a playing card/ tarot card and are in black and gray and include shading at the artist's discretion.  You can request color for an additional charge, but it's at the artist's discretion if they have time to add color during your ticketed appointment.  All locations for tattoos are welcome except for necks, hands, feet, and ribs just because these take more time to complete than the tickets' time!

The Tattooed Bride Photography will be hosting a FREE headshot event at Tattooed and Employed. Each ticketed person will receive 2 headshots. In one headshot, you can play it safe—think office chic with the ink out of sight. But for the second headshot, it’s time to roll up those sleeves, take off those cardigans, and let your tattoos see the light of day! It’s a chance to show every corporate leader—and your boss —that if they are still worried about hair color and ink in the hiring process, they are so far out of touch and we promise they are losing out on top talent employees....and clients!
